Brittany Mae White, the 19 year old daughter of Ed and Phyllis White, sister of Philip and Justin of Whiteville, is proud to be representing the North Carolina Watermelon Association as their 2008 Queen. Brittany is the former North Carolina Watermelon Festival Queen, the former Sweetheart of Columbus County Royal Sweetheart and the former Little Miss Columbus County Teen Miss.
Brittany will graduate from Southeastern Community College in May with an Associates Degree in Elementary Education along with an Associates Degree in Arts.
She will then attend the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where she will complete her Bachelors Degree, with plans to obtain her Masters Degree in Elementary Education.
Brittany is an active member of the Environmental Action Club and is a mentor for the Early College High School program. |

Brittany is a 2006 graduate of Whiteville High School where she graduated with honors. She was a member of the National Honor Society, cheerleader and co-captain. She received Most Valuable Cheerleader her senior year. Brittany received many community service, academic and athletic achievements throughout her high school career. She is also the recipient of numerous dance awards. Brittany was an active member of The Whiteville Juniorettes. She was also a Teaching Fellows finalist, Robinson Scholar and recipient of the Sol Mann scholarship.
Upon graduating from college, Brittany plans to become a Teacher. Her ultimate goal is to be a positive role model, educate to the highest standards and make a difference in the lives of young children.
Brittany would like to thank the North Carolina Watermelon Association for this opportunity to be their 2008 Queen and Spokesperson!
